From independence, the named areas have had no piped water despite being part of the only urban ward in Kapiri Mposhi. In the past, it was impossible for civic leaders to find a solution to this problem given that it was estimated to cost K3 Million when CDF was pegged at K1.6million. We have roughly K 15 Million under CDF to spend on community projects such as water and sanitation..

It gives us the financial muscle to resolve water challenges in the affected areas once and for all. However, for the water challenges to be resolved completely, there is need for community consensus on this issue among civic leaders, Lukanga and Water Co and WDCs. It is for this reason that we geared for this historical meeting that might put an end to water challenges.
